Bird Park

The biggest Bird Sanctuary in all over South America with more than 800 species! 

 
 

 
 

Consciousness - The Bird Park is not just a regular Zoo, it goes much further, recovering wounded animals from Biopiracy, breeding in dangerous species in captivity and environmental classes for kids and community.

Nurture and care - The proximity to the birds is incredible, they live in big sanctuaries same size as a real house, one gets to step inside and interact with them. Just always look up to avoid leaving the bird park with a smelly souvenier.

More than 800 species of birds from all over Brazil, South America, some from Australia and Africa. Also They take care of caymans, fresh-water turtles and some snakes such as the deadly anaconda (sucuri). Among birds some of the most beautiful specimens of Brazilian avi-fauna like toucans, macaws and eagles. 

 
 

Blue-and-gold Macaw - It is a member of the large group of neotropical parrots known as macaws. they inhabits forest (especially varzea), but also in open sections of not flooded forest), woodland and savannah of tropical areas.

Butterflies and humming birds - At the Bird Park the environmental work done reachs also other types of wings as well, butterflies and humming birds. They have a Sanctuary on their own. At the same sanctuary you may see some spiders.

The tour consists in a one mile walk throughout the entire area of the Bird Park. There is no turns so all You have got to do is to follow the path and You will cover every single one of the Sanctuaries. There is only one rule, the entrance to the Sanctuaries is via a small corridor so please do not open the door ahead of You before the one behind is totally close.

There is un upgraded version of the Bird Park tour, it’s called The Backstage Experience, private lectures with the experts who take care of birds, also You get the opportunity to feed some of them.

The tour takes around 2 hours - No reservation required - More enjoyable in the morning - Souvenir shop - Minimum 1 hour - Caymans, turtles and snakes as well - cafeteria.
